Bodycad enables orthopaedic surgeons to create a personalized restoration based on the anatomical specifications of their patient using the company's proprietary Personalized Restoration™ Software. Surgeons can quickly and efficiently step through the Bodycad PREP (Personalized Restoration Evaluation Process™) to scan their patients and create a specific design plan, approve the design, and perform the restoration. The company is committed to providing high-touch education, training and service, including access to Bodycad PREPTechs™ to help assure surgical success. Bodycad is transforming the current standard of orthopaedic implants to help surgeons and patients achieve their mutual goal of a perfect personalized restoration.

Jean Robichaud
President

Jean Robichaud is the founder and CEO of Bodycad. He also plays a leading role in regard to innovation and development as the Director of Research. Jean graduated as a dental technician in 1979 and is one of the few Master Fellows of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in the world. He has established himself as a pioneer and visionary in the dental industry. Indeed, he was one of the first to design implant-supported prosthesis and, more importantly, to integrate computer-assisted design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), which has now become a standard of care in the dental industry. He has established a track record of successful business ventures and has now set his sights and expertise on integrating CAD/CAM technology into the orthopaedic sector. He founded Bodycad in 2011 and is now using almost 40 years of entrepreneurial expertise, along with his experienced team, to design implants and instruments for orthopaedic applications using Bodycad’s proprietary software and technologies.

Gabriel Robichaud
Vice President

Gabriel Robichaud is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Bodycad. He has more than 14 years of experience in operations management for medtech companies with an emphasis in personalized medicine. He has been instrumental in the launch of several start-up companies that had sustainable growth and great success. These success stories have been achieved through his fresh vision, leadership, and strong sense of innovation. Gabriel draws on a creative and strategic approach to solve issues and manage effectively. Since the beginning of his career, he has often played a leading role in product development and recruitment to build high-performing teams. Gabriel graduated in Business Administration from Université Laval and in Industrial Robotics from Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon.

Andrew McLeod
Chief Commercial Officer

Andrew McLeod is a senior executive who has built his more than 20-year career engrossed in the orthopaedic medical device arena. From the beginning of his career, Andrew has consistently increased market share above projected growth, launched commercialization initiatives for new products/technologies and has successfully managed organizations and their people in a way that uniquely drives businesses forward. He has a passion and history for the development and recruitment of great talent and believes in the strength of the team. He has worked for small and large corporations and is a champion for advanced technologies and their orthopaedic applications. Andrew joined Bodycad as the Chief Commercial Officer for the enterprise to help pioneer personalized orthopaedics into a standard of care.

Marc Bédard
Chief Software Officer

Marc Bédard is a senior executive who has built his expertise in 3D software development for personalized CAD/CAM medical devices over the last 16 years. Marc started his career as one of the main software developers for Biocad, a company which revolutionized CAD/CAM dentistry by offering clinicians personalized solutions with its own suite of specialized 3D software. Marc joined Bodycad on day 1 as a senior software developer, after which he took on the role of Chief Software Officer. He thinks that technology should adapt to the patient, not the other way around. He wishes to help orthopaedics embrace, in turn, personalized medicine.

Lance Perry
Senior Advisor

Lance is a senior executive with more the 25 years of orthopedic medical device experience primarily with orthopaedic medical device leader, Biomet. He has held senior leadership roles in both marketing and product development always with a keen focus on building key team relationships and driving innovation. Lance has an engineering based, multi-disciplinary background with emphasis in strategic marketing, product management, product development, KOL recruiting and development, and key account management on a global basis. He is skilled at assessing market opportunities from a technology and profitability point of view and developing and executing on the strategies that enable the business to move forward. Throughout his career, he has had an ever-increasing passion for patient specific orthopedics serving as the senior leader for many of Biomet’s previous Patient Matched and Patient Specific Implant and Instrument initiatives. He joins Bodycad with a passion to make Personalized Orthopedics the unquestioned standard of care for today’s orthopedic patients. Lance, his wife, Lisa, and their 8 children reside in the Orthopedic Capital of the World, Warsaw, IN. Lance is a Board Member of 2nd Mile Missions and the Baker Youth Club, both charities focused on youth education and support. He is also an advisor to the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. Lance and Lisa are active in adoption support and advocacy and are passionate about running, cycling and triathlon based endurance activities.

Steve Pruitt
VP, US Sales

Steve is a senior level executive with more than 20 years of successful medical device experience in start-ups and orthopaedics. He spent a majority of that time with orthopaedic medical device leader, Biomet. Steve has been an integral part of two successful cardiovascular start-ups which were sold to two large companies. He launched his career in Orthopaedics in sales then was quickly promoted to a distributorship for Biomet. He eventually was promoted to Area Vice President. In 2015, after Zimmer’s acquisition of Biomet, Steve was part of the leadership team responsible for the integration of the sales team. He has a passion for developing and recruiting great talent and always believes in the strength of the team concept. Steve has an extensive background in developing surgeon relationships, new technologies, key account management, and has the ability to execute on strategies that ultimately enable the success of the business and beat growth expectations. Steve sees Bodycad as, "the future of orthopaedics which will drive precision, efficiencies, cost effectiveness, and disruption of the traditional orthopaedic model". He believes it "will also better support the current trends which include the increase of outpatient reconstructive surgery." Steve, his wife Karen and 2 children, live in Atlanta and are very involved in charitable contributions in their local community as well as Christ The King Church and school.

Marc Chaunet
VP, Regulatory Affairs and Quality

Marc Chaunet has over 15 years of experience in regulatory affairs and quality assurance in the medical device industry. He has a very strong technical background and education. Prior to joining Bodycad, Marc was responsible for obtaining regulatory market clearance in Canada, the United States and the European Union for breakthrough technologies in the field of health care reprocessing. He has a RAC certificate from the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, is a member of Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, and has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is an expert in quality assurance and has had oversight for the development, certification, and maintenance of ISO 13485 and US FDA 21CFR 820 compliant quality systems.

Geoffroy Rivet-Sabourin
Research Director

Geoffroy Rivet-Sabourin has a PhD in imaging and engineering and is a critical member of the Bodycad team. He has been working in medical technology research and development for more than 10 years with an emphasis on patient specific solutions using imaging technology. He has helped develop and patent creative solutions and research projects in both the orthopaedic and dental domain. Mister Rivet-Sabourin has a great passion to manage high-performing teams and to develop innovative technologies to further pioneer the field of personalized orthopaedics.

Laurent Beaudoin

Mr. Laurent Beaudoin is a chartered accountant and Fellow of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. After a prestigious career managing Bombardier Inc., a company specializing in the manufacturing and selling of rail and aviation products, he continued to serve on the board of directors of this company. In February 2015, Bombardier Inc. honoured Mr. Beaudoin with the title of Chairman Emeritus. Also, Mr. Beaudoin is Chairman of the board of directors of BRP Inc., Gestion McInnis and Ciment McInnis Inc., as well as President of Robotique FIRST Québec and Beaudier Inc. Mr. Beaudoin holds honorary doctorates from several universities.

Élaine Beaudoin

Ms. Élaine Beaudoin is a chartered accountant and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) and the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec . Between 1989 and 1998, she served as Chief Executive Officer at Unifix Inc., a company specializing in the manufacturing of lightweight concrete boards. Ms. Beaudoin is Director for Groupe Canam, Beaudier Inc., Ciment McInnis, and various foundations. Ms. Beaudoin has obtained the ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Jacques Levesque

Mr. Jacques Levesque is a chartered accountant and Fellow of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. Mr. Levesque’s career began in 1969 at Ernst & Young. Over the 29 years during which he worked for the firm, he advised numerous business leaders in the areas of taxation, reorganization, and corporate financing. Between 1977 and 1991, he played an active role in professional affairs and in 1991, he became President of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. He was then granted the title of Lifetime Member. In 1998, he joined Beaudier Inc., a private financial holding company belonging to the Beaudoin family, where he is serving as Vice-President of Finance. He is involved in the development and financing of various companies, as well as in portfolio management in manufacturing sectors, real-estate business, and health care. He serves on the board of several private corporations.

Bernard Brochu

Dr. Bernard Brochu is a diagnostic radiologist, and he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Université Laval in 2003. In 2004, he completed a specialized training in magnetic resonance imaging at Hôpitaux de Paris, and he is a member of the Collège de Médecine des Hôpitaux de Paris. In addition to his hospital-based practice, Dr. Brochu is a shareholder and medical director of Clinix Imagerie médicale et intervention. He is also a shareholder and a member of the Board of directors of IRM Québec Imagerie par résonance magnétique, as well as a shareholder of Imagix Medical Imaging.

These seasoned professionals provide real-world perspectives to the company and help make personalized restorations a reality.

Daniel J. Berry
Chief Science Advisor

Dr. Daniel J. Berry, M.D. is a past President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Berry was appointed to the Staff of Mayo Clinic, 1991; specialty in complex and revision hip and knee surgery. He became chairman of the Mayo Department of Orthopedic Surgery, 2005-2014; and named as L.Z. Gund Professor of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Berry has served on numerous committees and task forces, including the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR) and the CME Courses Committee. He has also served as president of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and held previous leadership roles for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS), the Hip Society and the Mid America Orthopaedic Association. He serves as a Trustee of The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Inc. He has been Trustee of Mayo Clinic since 2013. An orthopaedic researcher, Dr. Berry has received numerous honors and accolades including awards for clinical research from the Hip Society, the Knee Society, the AAHKS, and the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF). He serves as professor of orthopaedics, College of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. He is the author of more than 190 peer reviewed publications and 70 book chapters and has been the editor of several books on hip and knee arthroplasty He has made scientific presentations at hundreds of regional, national and international meetings. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Berry completed orthopaedic surgery residencies at Harvard, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed his fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Etienne Belzile
Surgeon Advisor

Dr. Étienne Belzile is an Assistant Professor at Université Laval, in Quebec City, Canada. He received his medical degree from McGill University and completed orthopaedic residency at Université Laval. He completed a fellowship in hip and knee adult reconstruction at the University of Virginia, as well as in pelvic reconstruction in young adults and adolescents at Harvard University. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation. He is also the Chairman of the Scientific Program 2016 of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (COA) meeting in Quebec City and was the Co-chairman of the COA Program Committee in 2013-2014 and of the AOA/COA Combined Meeting who took place in Montreal. In 2013, he acted as the co-host of the 10th Symposium on Joint Preserving and Minimally Invasive Surgery of the Hip. Furthermore, he is a member of the EPCAT II Study Steering Committee (CIHR funded) and serves as Director of Clinical Research, Orthopaedic Surgery Service, CHUQ, Quebec. He has published several articles and made various presentations on hip joint preservation surgery. His gamut of practice includes hip arthroscopy, hip resurfacing, PAO, surgical dislocation, and DAA THR.

Brian Hamlin
Surgeon Advisor

Dr. Brian Hamlin is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and Associate Director of the Bone and Joint Center of Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. He specializes in the treatment of diseases of the hip and knee. Dr. Hamlin has a developed expertise in the use of computer-assisted surgical systems, and advanced robotic surgical systems for treatment of unicompartmental knee replacement. Dr. Hamlin has published and presented numerous research projects in relation to the advancement of knowledge in the field of joint replacement including examination of new technologies, minimally invasive procedures, and long-term survivorship of implants. He has been recognized nationally as a Leadership Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Dr. Hamlin is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College, and The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. Dr. Hamlin completed his internship and residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. After his military obligation, he pursued a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

Nicolas Duval
Surgeon Advisor

Dr. Nicolas Duval first graduated in 1989 as an orthopaedic surgeon from Université Laval, Quebec City. He then furthered his education with a subspeciality in reconstruction of the adult hip and knee at Western University, London, Ontario. He also obtained a degree in Physical Activity Sciences from Université Laval. Dr. Duval specializes in problems related to the adult hip and knee. He has worked in Quebec’s public health system for thirteen years. After two years in the Lac-Saint-Jean region, at the Alma hospital center, he relocated to Montreal and he practiced successively at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (affiliated to McGill University), the Notre-Dame Hospital, and the Saint-Luc Hospital—CHUM (both affiliated to Université de Montréal). Dr. Duval is very active in scientific research and has published fundamental research and clinical research articles. As of January 2002, Dr. Duval has been the very first orthopaedic surgeon to be in private practice in Canada as a non-participating professional to the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec. He is co-founder of the Duval Orthopaedic Clinic located in the City of Laval, in the province of Quebec, where he has been practicing full time since 2003.

Michèle Angers
Surgeon Advisor

Dr. Michèle Angers is an Assistant Professor at Université Laval, in Quebec City, Canada. She received her medical degree and completed her orthopaedic residency program at Université Laval. She completed a fellowship in hip and knee adult reconstruction at the University of California – San Francisco. Dr. Angers is an active member of Canada’s and Quebec’s orthopaedic associations. She has made several clinical publications and presentations on adult reconstruction with an emphasis on bone mineral density. She has presented at a number of international meetings, including for the International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty (ISTA), the Société française de chirurgie orthopédique et traumatologique (SOFCOT), the International Congress for Joint Reconstruction (ICJR), as well as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). Her practice primarily includes complex and primary adult reconstructions.

Martin Bedard
Surgeon Advisor

Dr. Martin Bédard is an Assistant Professor at Université Laval, in Quebec City, Canada. He received his medical degree and completed his orthopaedic residency program at Université Laval. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC). He completed a fellowship in hip and knee adult reconstruction at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Over the years, Dr Bédard has developed a great interest in revision and complex knee arthroplasty. He has presented scientific papers at mutiples international meetings, including the Knee Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (COA), the Société Française de Chirurgie Orthopédique et Traumatologique (SOFCOT), and the International Society for Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). He also published several articles and book chapters on knee arthroplasty. The main focuses of his clinical research are improvement of patient satisfaction and prevention of complications.

Robert A. Poggie
Research and regulatry Advisor

Bob has worked in the orthopaedic industry since 1992, with experience and responsibilities in applied in research, clinical affairs, regulatory affairs, and medical education. Bob was instrumental in the research and development of Smith & Nephew’s Oxynium Technology and Zimmer’s Trabecular Metal technology, and continues to be engaged in the applied research and regulatory approval of new orthopaedic products. Since 2009, Bob has been an independent consultant (BioVera Inc., Notre-Dame-de-L’Ile-Perrot, Quebec, Canada) to the industry for strategy and execution of commercialization of new orthopaedic devices. Prior to BioVera, Bob was Director of Global Brand Management for Zimmer Trabecular Metal Technology, Inc. Bob coordinated and/or authored the publication of pre-clinical and clinical studies of orthopedic implants, biomaterials, surgical protocols, and product literature. He wrote the FDA and international submissions that resulted in numerous regulatory clearances for spinal, hip, knee, and shoulder products, and created the training materials for prospective surgeon users and the company’s sales associates. Prior to Zimmer, Bob was Director of Applied Research for Implex Corp. the original developer of Trabecular Metal technology. Bob managed the research, the lab and university testing, and the worldwide regulatory clearances of all the orthopedic products. He initiated and managed FDA regulated investigational studies, which included the recruitment of surgeon investigators, clinical site data compilation, and publication results. Prior to Implex, Bob was a senior research engineer for Smith & Nephew, responsible for metallurgical and tribological research, which included Oxynium technology. Bob has published numerous peer reviewed papers and presented globally as invited faculty at over 100 medical conferences and education courses. He is a member of several professional engineering and medical societies, and holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering and MS and PhD degrees in Materials Science & Engineering, all from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.

Bodycad is pursuing completely new approaches to the design and development of personalized restorations.

To protect these approaches, the company has a broad array of patents, industrial design patents, copyrights and trademarks issued and pending in both the United States and Canada. These protections cover a spectrum of intellectual property related to the infrastructure and processes that make Bodycad unique in its markets.
